Every kid should have at least one teacher who sees something special in them. For me, it was my 4th-grade teacher, Mrs. Shaw. She beamed unconditional positive regard at us each day, and I *wanted* to do well in her class. It’s almost funny to remember how much voluntary reading I did that year. (Book reports! SRA! More book reports!) Mrs. Shaw encouraged our creativity, and her class was just darned fun.
